Vertical Stripes: That 60's Trend

Fashion-wise we are visiting 60s this summer.

The androgynous monochromes, the baring midriffs dresses fitting at the waist and flowing downwards and yes how can we forget the bold prints!

And it definitely feels like a fun era to visit. Ofcourse I am not going to stay out of sucha joyful affair!

Here's how I embraced the 60s and made it to 2013's most fashionable event.

Yep, I was dressed in monochromatic stripes for Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2013.

And later that evening...

Colorful Stripes

Weekend = Happiness

Happiness = Colors, lots of them!

I finally got some time for the movie I have been wanting to watch - Oz the Great and Powerful.

Needed a feel good and happy touch to my weekend after hours of work over the week.

This is what I decided to wear. Colors and Stripes!

The loose Stripes Tee from Fame Forever was perfect

for the scorching summer.

The rings and the neck piece added more funk to the actually simple outfit.

And well, I dared taking my sequin clutch out for a day time ride. ;)

Quite a colorful movie, outfit and a very colorful day!

Hair Inspiration

I love love love Blake Lively’s and Beyonce’s messy curls!

It gives an impression of being just out of the bed but still so hot and ready to face the world.

And this is the look I try to achieve most of the times. I don’t really have to work hard at styling my hair because I too kinda have naturally curly hair.

The only thing I have to work at is avoiding a way too messy look

Also, I simple adore the messy updos . I have tried it myself a couple of times but still to perfect that look.

Amanda Seyfried’s updo at Oscars is what I am going to try very soon. She looks gorgeous in this hair style. If all goes right I might put up some photos of the messy updo.

Fiery Red Brocade Jacket

I always wanted a Brocade jacket that won't be over the top dressy and I was very lucky to find this one from Fashion Garage on FashionandYou. I wore it to a cozy dinner for two.

It matched my mood and ambiance!

The red in this is so fiery that I thought of keeping the accessories to minimum to avoid any clash!

The subtle Emerald ring did complete justice to this jacket.

And again, I just can't ditch black even in summer. ;)

What I love about this jacket is it is cut out very differently. The golden ribbon and the wrap around look is a winner. And inspite of the different cut, it fits so well.

I call this one a 'Statement Jacket'.

One Brocade jacket and I am good to go.
